JJU Office of International Affairs and Jeonbuk Tourism Marketing Support Center Collaborate to Revitalize Global Tourism with International Students

Jeonju University, under the leadership of President Park Jin-bae, has formed a strategic partnership with the Jeonbuk Tourism Marketing Support Center, headed by Acting Director Kim Ok-young, to revitalize tourism in the Jeonbuk region through the active involvement of international students.

On March 31, the two entities signed a business agreement at Jeonju University’s International Affairs Office. This initiative aims to leverage the rich tourism resources of Jeonbuk by engaging international students to introduce and promote the region’s attractions globally through various experiential programs.

The Jeonbuk Tourism Marketing Support Center intends to develop tourism content in collaboration with international students from Jeonju University. This content will be actively promoted to both domestic and international tourists through multiple channels, including social media, aiming to boost Jeonbuk’s brand as a premier global tourist destination and increase foreign tourist visits.

Kim Ok-young, Acting Director of the Center, commented, "International students are expected to play a crucial role in experiencing and promoting the region’s tourism assets through their global networks. This agreement should lead to a revitalization of tourism in Jeonbuk and positively impact the local economy by increasing international tourist arrivals."

Shim Young-guk, Dean of the Office of International Affairs at Jeonju University, added, "International students will serve as regional ambassadors, not only focusing on their studies but also promoting Jeonbuk. This partnership will create a symbiotic model for regional and university growth." He further stated, "We are committed to supporting international students to integrate into the local community successfully and develop into global talents."

Jeonju University continues to foster various collaborative initiatives with the local community, leveraging its prowess in identifying global talents and its internationalization capabilities.
