International Affairs Office Hosts Degree Conferment Ceremony for International Students -Local citizens and faculty members celebrate on behalf of student’s parents- Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) successfully conducted a Degree Conferment Ceremony for international students on Wednesday, the 19th, at the International Education Building. A total of 86 students were awarded degrees, including 65 bachelor's, 10 master's, and 11 doctoral degrees. Notably, six graduates, including Le Van Dung from the Department of Business Administration, received the "Global Excellence Award" for their outstanding achievements. Organized by the International Affairs Office, this separate ceremony provided a poignant moment to celebrate the new beginnings of the international graduates. Faculty members, along with representatives from local churches and volunteer organizations, attended to extend warm congratulations to the graduates. Local citizens also participated, representing the graduates' overseas families, adding a special touch to the occasion. The ceremony featured a moving speech by a representative of the international graduates, bringing an emotional close to their academic journey. The event included various segments such as an awards ceremony for distinguished graduates, speeches from honored guests, and the screening of a celebratory video. The ceremony ended on a high note with faculty members singing a congratulatory song, wishing the graduates success in their future endeavors. Professor Shim Young-guk, Director of the International Affairs Office and Professor of Hotel Management, expressed his delight, stating, "I am thrilled that our international students have successfully completed their studies in Korea and are now poised to take on new challenges." He added, "We are committed to continuing our support to ensure that international students can pursue their studies smoothly in Korea and integrate well into society." Jeonju University offers a range of academic programs for international students, available in both Korean and English tracks. With a one-stop support service from admission through to post-graduation employment, the university actively aids international students in succeeding within Korean society and on the global stage. Additionally, the university is dedicated to expanding its international infrastructure by developing a foreigner-friendly campus and enhancing both hardware and software, along with administrative services, to foster a more inclusive environment. |
